After a series of mishaps and controversies currently this year, now fresh trouble faces ATP’s occasion in Iceland – with bands taking on the web to pull out of the festival and slam organisers.


So far this year, Drive Like Jehu saw their curated occasion at ATP cancelled just a week ahead of it was set to take place – sharing a photo of toilet roll and claiming it had ‘crashed and burned’ at the hands of organisers. This came after their weekend and other curated by comedian Stewart Lee faced difficulties securing venues. Different acts booked had complaints relating to payment and communication in the course of Lee’s occasion, which went ahead. 


Now, more difficulties face ATP Iceland which is set to kick off next month. 


Fabio Frizzi has pulled out, saying: “We’ve created each effort to make this show occur, but regrettably the lack of communication and the failure to honour any of the agreements that we created with Barry Hogan (ATP), produced it impossible for us to carry out at this year’s ATP Iceland. It is a fantastic shame considering that as we were quite excited about these shows.”


Blanck Mass and múm have also cancelled their appearances, after múm wrote last month: “Regrettably the terms of the agreement with the festival have not been honoured and the band has been left with no other alternative than to pull out of the line-up.”


Speaking of current cancellations, ATP Iceland wrote on Facebook:

In 2014, the ATP-curated Jabberwocky Festival was also cancelled at the last minute, causing considerably frustration and numerous complaints from fans that had been awaiting refunds and bands had arranged to play. 


ATP Iceland is at the moment scheduled for 1-three July at Ásbrú -with Keflavik. Angel Olsen, Omar Souleyman, John Carpenter, and Les Savy Fav all among these set to execute. For tickets and far more information, check out here
