Emily Eavis has revealed there will be a new area at next year’s Glastonbury Festival and we believe from the hints she gave NME that it could be a ‘drive in’ cinema made out of scrap American automobiles.
NME report (here) in an interview with Emily Eavis she told them, “We cannot give you too several details of, but it’s going to be an region which entails lots and lots of… it’s somewhere among an installation and someplace where you’ll go to experience watching films and listening to music in a different way. It is a huge addition to the festival. I don’t wanna give it away at the moment, but there is artists operating on it flat out and every day these cars are arriving, which are going to be element of this installation. They’re like ancient automobiles. It’s very exciting, but we’ll give you far more details when we have it. It is a small bit too early to say.”
Emily Eavis also reveals that the Festival organisers are still taking into consideration moving internet sites in the future, telling NME that they’d like to maintain Glastonbury exactly where it is for now – but are still investigating alternatives for the future.
NME quotes her saying, “We’re really keen to maintain Glastonbury Festival as we know it at Worthy Farm because that’s exactly where it belongs. If we did something anywhere else, it wouldn’t be named Glastonbury, it would be by the team behind Glastonbury that place on yet another event. That might come about in ’19, it may well take place in ’20, but at the moment we’re still seeking at all the distinct options. “
“We’re genuinely keen to continue performing Glastonbury right here for as lengthy as we can. I think my dad is really keen to attempt anything someplace else. I consider at his age it is just anything he truly wants to do so we’re all going for that, but I do not know precisely what it’ll be however.
“At the moment we’re seeking at a couple of websites. We’re close to finding someplace that could be excellent, but also what it’s going to be is still up in the air. Probably it will be something much more primarily based on the fringe areas of the festival with more installations and all these experiences individuals have, rather than lots and lots of music stages.”
Emily Eavis also reveals that that “90% of the line-up has been booked” and that they’d be “cramming in two years” worth of music‘ into 2017 – and also declared that neither Daft Punk and Stone Roses would be the other two headliners.
Friday headliners Radiohead are the first act to be confirmed for Glastonbury Festival 2017 which will take spot at a farm in Pilton, Somerset over 5 complete days on the final weekend in June, that is from Wednesday 21st to Sunday 25th June 2017.
