The Blur frontman was the very first to tackle the EU referendum outcome

Damon Albarn lamented the result of the EU referendum at Glastonbury this morning, saying, “Democracy has failed us.”

The Blur frontman performed a solo set to open the Pyramid Stage right now, and took the chance to rail against the news that the UK will leave the European Union. “I have a very heavy heart right now,” he told the crowd, “because to my thoughts, democracy has failed us. Democracy has failed us since we were ill-informed.”

He added, ”And I just want all of you to know, that when we leave here, we can alter that selection. It is possible,” – although he failed to explain how.
