What to Wear After You Have a Baby

I thought for a second about titling this post “I Can Wear Normal Garments Again,” but then I realized I’d have to qualify it with a “(Sort Of)”. Because as I discovered last time around, even although I was capable to put on my old garments quickly right after getting Henry, they suuuuure fit differently. Not to mention that if you’re breastfeeding, it adds a entire other dimension of necessity that you in no way thought of prior to. So I’ve been collecting postpartum pieces that worked well for me final time and are working nicely now, and I’m here to help you if you are entirely lost!

Postpartum Wardrobe

For starters, don’t be concerned if you’re not appropriate back in your old pants a handful of days after you have the kiddo. That’s kind of unheard of, due to the fact your physique does not just bounce appropriate back. You might look pregnant nevertheless for a bit, or you may possibly just be bloated or a various shape totally. With Henry, my butt just totally… disappeared. Like, I typically have a fairly round predicament going on back there and it went completely flat a handful of days after I had him. But I nonetheless had a small bit of a tummy. So I was a fully diverse shape and even though my old pants were the proper size they looked all stretched out and crazy. Cue new pants.

Also, if you are breastfeeding you are going to want to wear simple on, easy off tops. I ended up living in my chambray button up shirt last time since I sort of wanted to appear put together but didn’t want something that I’d have to do key battle with every time Hank required to eat. So for me, it’s button ups or soft shirts that are effortless to yank more than or beneath the girls when baby is hungry. Tight tops had been just not gonna reduce it, so I tended to put on blousy shirts with some room in them till my tummy bounced back following a couple months.

So! Throughout a late evening feeding session I was dreaming of a few new pieces to add to my postpartum wardrobe and thought I’d share. And why are there footwear in my picks, you ask? Mostly due to the fact I’m so pumped that my feet are not swollen any more and I can put on typical footwear again. 😉 xoxo
